About

Hey! I’m Megan, the creator, hand-letterer, designer, and illustrator behind Poppy and Paper. The purpose of this space is to celebrate creativity in all different forms: reading, writing, designing, hand-lettering, and more.

I have always been driven by my desire to create. In college, I studied Visual Communication where I learned the ins and outs of design. After I graduated, I worked for a stationery company and event designer, two brands that taught me what it means to run a small business. After leaving these roles and beginning a job at a corporate office, I decided to start Poppy and Paper as a hobby. It began with hand-lettering but as I spent more and more free time reading, I wanted to incorporate that into this space and get to talk about books with fellow readers.

Now, Poppy and Paper encapsulates so much of what I love: reading, designing, hand-lettering, and illustrating. My hope is that this blog can be a place for creators, readers, and anyone pursuing creativity in their everyday lives.

A few months ago my husband and I decided it was time for a change. We packed up our bags, said goodbye to our friends and family, and left our home in LA for Seattle. We are settling in and exploring our new city. I am currently working as a designer full-time.

When I’m not working, you can find me reading, hiking with my husband, browsing a bookstore, or grabbing coffee with a friend.
